After completing his studies in Princeton and Cincinnati, Jeff Martin began his European career in Germany, where he continues to build an ambitiously varied repertoire. He has performed in many important opera and concert halls including Staatsoper Stuttgart, Staatsoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, Oper Koeln, Opera National du Rhin Strasbourg, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Notre Dame Paris, Staatstheater Nuernberg, Theater Dortmund, and Nationaltheater Mannheim.
In collaboration with conductors such as Friedemann Layer, Christoph Prick, John Nelson, Hans Wallat, Arthur Fagan, Constantinos Carydis, and Daniel Klajner, Jeff Martin has enjoyed great success with his interpretations of the Mozart roles Tamino (Die Zauberfloete), Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte), Ottavio (Don Giovanni), in addition to Wagner’s Mime and Loge (Der Ring des Nibelungen), David (Die Meistersinger von Nuernberg), Lortzing’s Baron Kronthal (Der Wildschuetz), Strauss’ Herodes (Salome), Berg’s Hauptman (Wozzeck), and Bach’s Evangelist (Matthaeus-Passion).

In 2011 he took part in the Bolshoi Theatre’s production of The Golden Cockerel, singing the part of the Astrologer (conductor Vassily Sinaisky, director Kirill Serebrennikov). In 2012 he sang the role of Valzacchi in a new production of Der Rosenkavalier (conductor Vassily Sinaisky, director Stephen Lawless ).
