Christoph Stiller was born in Cologne and received his musical education as a pianist and conductor at the Hochschule für Musik Cologne. His teachers included Ilse Lott, Vera von Schnitzler, Günther Ludwig and the conductor Volker Wangenheim, also participating in masterclasses with Sergiu Celibidache, Eric Ericson and Karl Österreicher. He embraced a wide range of activities including playing chamber music, assisting on numerous productions for the Cologne Opernschule and conducting his first performances.

Following his studies Stiller was immediately engaged as a pianist and conductor at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. As Head of Music and Kapellmeister he has worked on over sixty productions including the complete Wagner Ring cycle, the major Strauss operas, Berg's Wozzeck and Lulu, the premières of many contemporary works as well as conducting all of the Mozart da Ponte operas, Die Zauberflöte, Fidelio, La Cenerentola, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Maria Stuarda, La Traviata, Luisa Miller, Il Trovatore, Falstaff, Carmen, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Die Fledermaus, Die lustige Witwe, many other operettas and the major ballet repertoire.

Stiller has been engaged as guest conductor with the Staatsorchester Halle, the Staatsorchester Darmstadt, the Bochumer Philharmoniker, the Staatsoperette Dresden, the Philharmonisches Orchester der Stadt Ulm, the WDR Rundfunkchor and has performed throughout Germany, France, Spain and Monaco. Latest endeavours include conducting new productions of Simon Boccanegra and Don Pasquale at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
