On April 4th 2014 the meeting of the Bolshoi Theatre Board of Trustees took place in the New Stage building. The following members of the Board of Trustees were present at the meeting: Vladimir Urin, Olga Golodets, Mikhail Shvydkoy, Valentin Yumashev, Alexander Klyachin and Alexander Budberg as well as representatives of companies and private actors members of the Board. Alexander Zhukov, the Board of Trustees Chairman and the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, chaired the meeting.
Alexander Zhukov gave the floor to the theatre management so they could talk in detail about the current season and explain what the audience should expect in the season of 2014-2015.
The Bolshoi Theatre General Director Vladimir Urin introduced to the trustees Tugan Sokhiev, the Bolshoi's new music director and chief conductor. The Bolshoi Theatre General Director thanked all trustees for the support they provided to all projects during the 238th season and talked about the current tasks of the theatre administration. Even before the Bolshoi's creative plans for the new season were officially announced, the trustees were first to learn about them from the new music director and chief conductor Tugan Sokhiev and the Bolshoi Ballet artistic director Sergei Filin.
The question of new trustees' admission to the board was an important issue on the agenda. Last year four new trustees joined the Bolshoi Theatre Board of Trustees; in 2014 "Vnesheconombank" became the board's new corporate member.
The non-profit organization "The Bolshoi Foundation", established in 2002, is one of the mechanisms, which provide support to the theatre. B. Vishnevsky, who has been the Foundation's permanent executive director since 2006, and whose term of office was extended for two more years, talked about the Foundation's current work.
The new amount of the trustee's fees for the year of 2015 was approved; for the first time since 2008 this amount was increased by 100 thousand Euros and now comprises 350 thousand Euros.
