In 2013, the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives, together with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, established the All-Russian competition of young performers “Russian Ballet”. Its main goal is to identify and support young talents among senior students, as well as ballet graduates of the country's choreographic schools.
The final of the competition is held on the stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia, which provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring artists to express themselves.
The jury of the competition includes choreographers, choreographers, and artistic directors of leading theaters in Russia. The chairman of the jury and artistic director of the competition is People's Artist of the USSR, choreographer, choreographer Yuri Grigorovich.
The jury determines the laureates of the first, second and third degrees in the “Classical Dance” nomination, who are awarded commemorative medals and diplomas of the competition laureates. The winner of the Grand Prix of the All-Russian Competition for Young Performers “Russian Ballet”, in addition to the main prize and a diploma, receives the right to undergo an internship in a ballet troupe of one of the leading theaters in Moscow or St. Petersburg.
