New Stage

One of the most famous ballets created in the twentieth century. After the famous premiere at the Mariinsky theatre with the participation of Mikhail Baryshnikov, more than 60 performances were staged in different theatres of Russia and around the world! The plot is based on cycles of drawings by French artist Jean Effel "Creation of the World" and "Le Roman d'Adam et Ève". The beautiful music of Andrei Petrov and the innovative choreography by Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyov made this performance a real "favorite of the public", wherever and whenever it was performed.

The ballet Creation of the World is famous for stunning actor's works. The generations of ballerinas and dancers brilliantly realized their talent in this performance as each character has a bright role and a brilliant choreographic "text", the opportunity to show themselves in the comedy genre, and in the lyrics, and in dramatic situations... In the choreography you can clearly guess reference not only to the good-humorous cycles of Effel's drawings, but also to the art of a very different plan – a powerful, full of inner strength frescoes the Sistine Chapel of the great Michelangelo.
