She studied at Fine Art at Maidstone College of Art and Theatre Design at the Motley Theatre Design School. Amongst her major works at the lyric theatre are Norma at Opera North (Leeds); Faust at Santa Fe Opera Festival (New Mexico); Makropulos Case and Midsummer Night’s Dream at ENO (London); Carmen (Beijing); Orfeo and Euridice (Vienna); Il Trovatore (Opéra Bastille); La Bohème at Royal Albert Hall (London); La Vida Breve, Pagliacci, Djamileh, Francesca da Rimini at Opera North (Leeds); Katya Kabanova and La Rondine at La Fenice (Venice); Oedipus Rex & Cleopatra (Graz & Marinsky); Cappricio (Torino); Die Schweigsame Frau, Don Carlos, Fancuilla del West (Zurich); La Clemenza di Tito (Dallas, London); Porgy and Bess, Fidelio, Nabucco (Bregenz). In theatre she has designed for the Royal Shakespeare Company (Love in a Wood, The Duchess of Malfi, Richard II, The White Devil, Merchant of Venice, Measure for Measure), Royal National Theatre (Democracy, later at West End and on Broadway; Afterlife.)
