Revival Stage Director

Vsevolod Polonsky studied the conducting and the composition at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory of Saint-Petersburg, at CNSMD de Lyon and at the CNSMD de Paris. During his studies, he also worked with professors J. Panula, J. Nelson, D. Robertson and Z. Nagy. 


In September 2006, he won the First Price of the First International Conductor’s Competition of Cordoba (Spain). In 2008 he obtained the First Honor Diploma of the 28th Masterplayers International Music Competition (Switzerland). He had previously won the Special Public Price (the Grand Prix has not been given) to the 48th International Young Conductor’s Competition of Besançon and the Special Price of PWM Edition at the 7th International Grzegorz Fitelberg Competition for the best interpretation of the Symphony N°2 of K. Szymanovsky. 


In the april 2010 he won the prestigious theatrical prize as the best conductor for the production of “Les Paraplues de Cherbourg” de Michel Legrand made in the “Karambol” music theater in Saint-Petersburg. For the same production, he was also nominated the best conductor for “The Musical Heart of Russia” Prize. 


In 2010, he became principal conductor of “Le Sinfonietta” Orchestra of Douai, he was the musical director of the “Métamorphoses” Chamber Orchestra in Paris. Recently, from 2002 to 2008, Vsevolod Polonsky has been worked as musical director of the Choir and Orchestra of High Schools of Paris. In 2008, he was also named music director of the “Armède” Ensemble, issued from the members of the COGE. Attracted by the opera, he served for several times as assistant in Liceu Theater of Barcelona. 


Since 2003, Vsevolod Polonsky has collaborated regularly with numerous Russian and European orchestras : the Philharmonic, the National and “Klassika” Orchestras of Saint-Petersburg, The Symphonic Orchestra of Moscow, the Moussorgsky Opera Theater of Saint-Petersburg (Russia), the Cordoba Symphony Orchestra (Spain), the National Orchestra of Ile-de-France, the Orchestra Colonne (France), the National Orchestra of Lyon, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Silesia (Poland), the Zagreb Radio Orchestra (Croatia), National Orchestra of the Crimea (Ukraine) and several modern music’s ensembles in France and Russia…
