Vladimir Stolpovskykh

Artistic Director
Graduated from the Belarussian State Academy of Music (class of the People’s Artist of Russia, Professor G. Provatorov) and completed master’s degree course (supervisor of studies – People’s Artist of Belarus, Professor A. Anisomov). He is the laureate of the First National Theatre Prize of the Republic of Belarus (for the production of the opera Nabucco by G. Verdi), the owner of the award of the Belarus Trade Union Federation in literature and art, was awarded with Francis Skorina medal, the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Art Workers for making a major contribution to revival of the old Belarusian music. Since 2001 – 2006 was the Chief guest conductor of the Mersin State Opera and Ballet company (Turkey). Since 1993 – the conductor of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus. In 2003 – 2004 – the Chief Conductor of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus.

 

He is the conductor of the productions of the following operas: the Pearl Fishers by G. Bizet, Nabucco, La Traviata, Aida by G. Verdi, La Boheme, Turandot by G. Puccini, I Pagliacci by R. Leoncavallo, Cavalleria rusticana by P. Mascagni, Boris Godunov by M. Mussorgsky, Tsar’s Bride by N. Rimsky-Korsakov; of the ballets The fairy’s kiss, Fire-bird, The Sacred Spring by I. Stravinsky, The Legend of Thyl Ulenspiegel by E. Glebov, Serenade by P. Tchaikovsky. He carried out the world premiere of the opera Jubilee by S. Kortes (Soloturn, Switzerland). In the repertoire there are more than 30 operas and ballets by West European, Russian and national composers.

 

Vyacheslav Volich actively cooperates with the famous opera theatres of Russia and Europe, among which there are Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre, the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow, the Akhundov Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the Jalil Opera and Ballet Theatre in the Republic of Tatarstan etc.


In 2012 he worked on the production of Sergei Prokofiev's War and Peace at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.

He is the participant of international vocal events (including, the Chaliapin festival), performs with the Belarusian and foreign orchestras, lives a rich touring and concert live.


He is the author of creative programmes and projects of the Belarusian Bolshoi Theatre, among which there are “ The Night in the Mirsky Castle”, Ýoung Talents of Belarus”, “Nights of the Bolshoi Theatre in the Radzivill’s Castle” .
